MEDICINE

More than a Workout

Anyone can make you sweaty and tired. You can just hop on YouTube and find a good workout video, but what if your goal is more than just “to exercise?” This is where performance medicine comes in.

We will work to improve your performance by helping you become stronger, faster, more mobile—whatever your sport/activity requires. There will be an emphasis on technique to ensure we build strength on top of quality movement.

Regardless of the goals we set for you, a goal that will always be included is getting stronger. We will build a stronger, more resilient you in order to reduce the risk of future injury.

"A good strength and conditioning program is a good injury prevention program."

— Mike Boyle, S&C Coach

PT ↔ PM Continuum

If you are a physical therapy client, you will reach a point when you are ready to “graduate.” You no longer require as much hands-on or other therapeutic techniques and you are back to your former self.

What happens next in your rehab journey? We shift gears from physical therapy to performance medicine, and we continue to build beyond your former self.

Following an individualized performance program, we will turn up the intensity and continue to build upon the foundation created in physical therapy. A stronger body is a more resilient one!

On the flipside, if you are a performance medicine client and are now dealing with an injury, we can easily transition to physical therapy. We will focus on rehabbing the injury and modifying our workouts, as needed.

Once we have rehabbed the injury, we can switch back into performance medicine mode. This fluidity is what makes the PT ↔ PM continuum ideal for the athlete or active individual—you never stop building!

How It Works

Plan

We will begin with an introduction and planning session. The session can be held in-person or via video chat, your preference! During this session, we develop your goals and create an individualized performance program to get us there.

implement

We get to work! Depending on our program, we’ll meet at least once/week. Your individualized performance program will also be accessible as a Google doc, so you can view it at your convenience.

progress

One of the most important aspects of any program is progression—is your body still being challenged to adapt? Our program will evolve over time as you continue to get stronger and adjust your goals.
